  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 2 tbsp oil
  1. Combine warm water, warm milk, yeast, oil and half of the sugar. Whisk until dissolved and let rest for 5-10 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, combine flour, baking powder, salt and the rest of the sugar.
  3. Pour in the yeast mixture and slowly incorporate everything together with dough hooks. Knead on medium speed until an elastic and soft dough forms.
  4. Shape the dough into a ball, cover and let prove until tripled in size (about 2 hours).
  5. Roll out the dough to 1/2cm and cut into circles.
  6. Lightly oil the surface and fold in half. Gently press with a rolling pin, cover and rest for another 30 minutes.
  7. Steam the buns for 8-12 minutes.
