- Pre-heat the oven to 180┬░C / 160┬░C Fan.
- Rip the buns into small pieces and soak in the milk and cream for 5 minutes. Keep 2 tablespoons of the cherry water and drain the rest.
- Add vanilla beans, sugar, cherries, cherry water and egg yolks and stir thoroughly.
- Whisk the egg whites and a pinch of salt until they form stiff peaks. Fold into the bread mixture.
- Transfer into a greased casserole and bake for 50 minutes. Cover with tin foil after 35 minutes.
