  • 400 g cherries
  • 5 milk buns
  • 150 ml heavy cream
  • 150 ml milk
  • 1 vanilla pod
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 4 egg whites
  1. Pre-heat the oven to 180┬░C / 160┬░C Fan.
  2. Rip the buns into small pieces and soak in the milk and cream for 5 minutes. Keep 2 tablespoons of the cherry water and drain the rest.
  3. Add vanilla beans, sugar, cherries, cherry water and egg yolks and stir thoroughly.
  4. Whisk the egg whites and a pinch of salt until they form stiff peaks. Fold into the bread mixture.
  5. Transfer into a greased casserole and bake for 50 minutes. Cover with tin foil after 35 minutes.
