4tbsp orange juice • 100g butter
Bring the orange juice to a boil, remove from the heat and stir in 100g butter. Set aside to cool.125g butter • 200g sugar • 1 egg yolk
Cream together the rest of the butter and the sugar. Add the egg yolk and orange butter and mix for 3 minutes.350g flour • 1tsp baking powder • 2tbsp poppy seeds • 1package vanilla sugar • 1 orange (zest) • 1 pinch salt
Add the flour, baking powder, poppy seeds, vanilla sugar, zest and salt and knead into a coherent dough.- Refrigerate for 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 180°C.
50g sugar • 1/2 orange (zest) • 1tbsp poppy seeds
Combine the topping ingredients in a small bowl.- Form walnut-sized balls, flatten them to 0.5cm thickness and press them into the topping mixture. Place on a parchment lined baking tray. Sprinkle any remaining mixture over the cookies.
- Bake for 10 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
- Transfer to a wire rack and allow to cool completely.
